APA to discuss flood response, bridge project

The state Adirondack Park Agency Board of Commissioners convenes later this week for its regular monthly meeting.

The agenda features a discussion on the agency's response to flooding across the region, several telecommunications projects, and an update on the Lake Champlain bridge project.

That report will be provided by the Agency's deputy director of Regulatory Programs, Richard Weber.

Transportation officials from New York and Vermont said last week that construction of a new bridge between Crown Point and Addison, Vermont has been delayed due to flooding at one of the work sites. Crews were able to continue some work from barges.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., staff will present a proposal for a shoreline setback variance submitted by the village of Lake Placid. Trustees want to replace a bandshell at Mid's Park - staff is recommending that commissioners approve an order granting the variance, with conditions.

At 2:30 p.m., the full Agency convenes for this month's Community Spotlight, presented by Chesterfield Supervisor Gerald Morrow.
