JOHNSBURG - Max Muller used his powerful arm to strike out 18 batters for the Mountaineers, but Jaguar pitcher Lance Baker got the win as Johnsburg slipped past Minerva-Newcomb, 2-0 in Mountain and Valley baseball action Saturday, April 30.

Baker struck out 11, gave up two hits but didn't allow Minerva-Newcomb to score a single run. Sean O'Neill doubled and Liam Harrison singled for Johnsburg.

Minerva-Newcomb's Austin Williams and Muller finished with a base hit apiece.

OLMSTEDVILLE - Winning pitcher Laura Tokarz allowed one hit in five innings and combined with relief pitcher Shelby Hogan for 13 strikeouts as Minerva-Newcomb easily downed Keene Wednesday, April 27.

Ashley Miller had two hits for the Mountaineers, including the only double of the game.

Mountaineer catcher Tara Galusha was impressive at bat as she drove in six runs on three hits, while Gabby McNally added three hits.

JOHNSBURG - Marlena Peter and Renna Yandon both tripled and lead Minerva-Newcomb to an easy win over Johnsburg in the Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference opener for both teams Monday, April 25.

Shelby Hogan, Gabby McNally and Ashely Miller each had two hits for the Mountaineers who start their season with a league win.

Winning pitcher was Laura Tokarz.

Cassandra Prouty tripled and Sierra Galusha and Anna Gahan added two hits each for the Jaguars. Johnsburg is now 0-1 in the league and 0-2 overall.
