Lady Lions start the season strong in softball

Schroon Lake 12, Willsboro 11

The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the bottom of the seventh inning as a walk-off passed ball scored Gabe Harvey to complete the comeback against the Lady Warriors April 29.

Harvey and Brianna DeZalia each had two-out, two run hits in the inning. DeZalia hit a double in the inning, while Miranda DeZalia and Abbey Veverka also hit doubles. Ashley Subra struck out 14 batters in the win.

Emily Sayward hit a triple and drove in three runs for the Lady Warriors, while Kyli Swires had a triple and Alyson Arnold added a double to the offense.

ELCS 23, Chazy 9

Andrea Le Vien collected three hits and gathered herself after a rough first three innings to pitch four scoreless innings to end the game as the Lady Lions got past the Lady Eagles April 29.

Emily Morris added four hits and five runs batted in to pace the Lions offense, while Kylie Cassavaugh and Keartin Ashline each collected three hits.

Emily Keable had three hits for the Eagles, while Emily LaPierre had two.

Peru 6, AVCS 4

The Lady Indians scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to give themselves the cushion to beat the Lady Patriots April 29.

Paige Moore and Breanna Martineau each hit a home run for the Indians, who got two hits from Dani Dayton, Brianna Padron and Moore, while winning pitcher Kelly Kezar helped herself out with a pair of runs batted in.

Kelly McBrearity and Amily Plumadore each had two hits for the Patriots, while Brittany Friedrich struck out five in taking the loss on the mound.

Saranac Lake 21, Seton 0

The Lady Red Storm scored half of their runs in the second inning as they routed a short-handed Lady Knights April 29.
