Find your dream prom dress in - the cafeteria?

BRISTOL - Mount Abraham Union High School's Prom Night is Saturday, May 14, and the school's PTO is helping to make it effortless-and painless -to shop for those special dresses and tuxes by sponsoring the Mt. Abe Prom Dress and Tuxedo Sale to be held in the school's cafeteria April 8-9.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the school's PTO enrichment programs, and organizers say they are hoping to make it an annual event.

"We're hoping to keep it going by encouraging kids to re-donate back to the sale next year, helping the school and the PTO," said PTO member Kathleen Clark.

The sale will feature used dresses donated by individuals and also one hundred new dresses plus tuxedo jackets and shirts, and men's and women's formal shoes donated by Tania Lewis and Lubiana Badeau, owners of Lubiana's Bridal Shop in Barre. Badeau recently decided to retire after 32 years in business and much of their inventory was given to worthy organizations, including the Mt. Abe PTO. Overall, shoppers will have at least 150 dresses to choose from, and donations are still welcome.

All of the clothing is priced to sell at $25 per dress (new or used), $15 per jacket and $5 for shoes. Needleman's Bridal will be in attendance to take measurements for tuxes and will offer a $50 discount on each rental and donate 10 percent of the proceeds back to the PTO.

Just Because Flowers will also be available to take corsage and boutineer orders. Organizers have also secured 25 percent discount coupons from Desabrais Cleaners to make it easier to clean and re-donate the clothing for next year's sale.

Prom Dress Sale hours are Friday, April 8, from 3-7 p.m., and Saturday, April 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
