Food Network star Sandra Lee won't be visiting Saranac Lake for the inaugural Daffest celebration next month.
But the girlfriend of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo hopes to participate in some capacity next year.
In a recent interview with US Magazine, Lee tabbed Saranac Lake as one of her two favorite vacation getaways in the world, the other being the Italian island of Capri.
She also identified daffodils as her favorite flower.
Those two revelations led Saranac Lake Mayor Clyde Rabideau to invite Lee and Cuomo to this spring's Daffest, a celebration of spring being organized by the village and civic organizations.
But Rabideau learned over the weekend that Lee can't make it for this year's festival. Her spokeswoman, Ashley Ward, emailed Rabideau, saying Lee is "booked solid during the weekend of April 29-May 1, as she will be in Washington, DC for the White House Correspondents Dinner."
Ward did note that Lee "would love to host (or participate in some capacity) Daffest in 2012."
"Sandra Lee is a busy celebrity, so the possibility of having her here in Saranac Lake next year is outstanding," Rabideau said in response to the email.
