Students detect seismic waves from quake

SARATOGA - Seismic waves from the earthquake in Japan were detected in Saratoga and recorded by Skidmore College students, according to Amy Frappier, the Charles Lubin Family professor of women in science.

It took roughly 14 minutes for the waves to reach Saratoga, according to the students and were recorded by a seismograph in the college's science building.

Freshman students at Skidmore are now studying the data.
