Tarar stressed hookah as being harmless - even for asthmatics.
"Even people with asthma are smoking - and they are okay," said Tarar
Smoking hookah can also facilitate quitting smoking, he added.
"Hookah is a good substitute for hardcore smokers - they come here and smoke a few hours, telling the mind you are smoking, decreasing nicotine levels, and eventually you will not be smoking."
However, hookah isn't just for the college student population.
"Many white collar people come here after work," he said. "We also have 50 to 60 loyal customers, always here on weekend nights."
