McSweeney pleads not guilty to manslaughter

PLATTSBURGH - Jesse McSweeney, 26, Mooers, has pleaded not guilty on charges in connection with the death of 24-year-old Jeremiah Dalton, also of Mooers.

McSweeney, who entered the plea in Clinton County Court March 11, was recently indicted on charges of driving while ability impaired, aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI, third-degree assault, and speed not reasonable and prudent.

The charges stem from an Oct. 10 crash in which authorities believe McSweeney was driving drunk after leaving a local bar.

McSweeney is scheduled to reappear in court May 18. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
