Holderied, Leon win village board seats

Peter Holderied and Jason Leon decisively won the race for two seats on the Lake Placid Village Board of Trustees in Tuesday's election.

Holderied led with 274 votes and Leon, an incumbent, was close behind with 264 votes. Paul Strack was defeated with 222 votes and longtime trustee David Jones was decisively beaten after receiving only 148 votes.

Leon, who is the youngest of the candidates, said he was exited to compete and win in the elections.

"This was a judgment of what I've done over the last few years and that I've done what I was obligated to do," he said.

Margaret Doran was also elected as village justice with 381 votes. She ran unopposed.
