Sex offender denied appeal

PLATTSBURGH - Joseph Reynolds, 32, formerly of Delaware, has held a sex abuse conviction against him upheld for the repeated abuse of a young girl following an appeal.

Reynolds is serving a maximum sentence of 25 years to life following his 2009 conviction for repeatedly sexually abusing and raping a 9-year-old. One charge of first-degree course of sexual misconduct against a child was removed as it was acknowledged by justices as already included in the top charge of predatory sexual assault against a child. However, the dismissal does not affect Reynolds' 25-year prison term, which he is currently serving in Great Meadow Correctional Facility, Comstock.
