Schroon, North Hudson seniors lauded

SCHROONLAKE-The forth in a series of Retired Senior Volunteer Program local recognitions was held on Feb. 23 at the Schroon Lake Nutrition Site & Senior Center. Honored were the RSVP volunteers and stations from the towns of Schroon and North Hudson.

Donna Moses, manager of the Schroon Lake meal site, hosted the luncheon. In attendance were volunteers and staff from area stations. Assisting were Essex County Nutrition Site staff, Schroon Lake Central School students, and RSVP staff and advisory group. Certificates of appreciation were presented to area stations. Guest speakers included Schroon Councilwoman Clara Phibbs, North Hudson Town Clerk Sally Vinskus, and RSVP Advisory Group member Buffy Buysse.

The new RSVP pins were given to all attendees. Multiple volunteers and guests won door prizes.

"The RSVP staff would like to thank everyone that took part in this event," said Barb Brassard, RSVPexecutive driector. "I am enjoying meeting and working with our volunteers and it is a pleasure to honor them for all they give back to our communities."
