SARANAC LAKE- Jane Carroll, President of the Board of Directors of Historic Saranac Lake is pleased to announce the receipt of a GET SET grant of $3,000 to retain the help of museum specialists. Historic Saranac Lake will secure the assistance of two professional museum consultants, Kevan Moss and Field Horne, in the development of a long-term exhibit plan for the Saranac Laboratory Museum. The GET SET grant, from the New York State Council on the Arts, is administered by Museumwise.
Kevan Moss is a designer with extensive museum experience coordinating design, building and exhibit projects. She is a trusted expert who will help bring board and staff together around a common vision for the museum. Exhibit Script Writer Field Horne brings an informed outside perspective to help the museum shape its story. He has completed many successful exhibit scripts over his 37-year career, both as a museum staff member and as an independent consultant. This exhibit planning effort is one step in the strategic plan for Historic Saranac Lake, adopted by its board of directors in 2005 and revisited yearly. The project will help meet the goals of providing multifaceted educational programs about Saranac Lake history and preserving Saranac Lake's history and architecture.
