Ethics board interviews set

ELIZABETHTOWN-The Essex County Ethics Board is one step closer to reality.

At the Feb. 28 ways and means committee meeting of the Essex County Board of Supervisors, chairman Randy Douglas of Jay said the committee selected to interview candidates for the five-member board would have its reccomendations soon.

"By the time we hold our personnel meeting in March, we should have those reccomendations," Douglas said.

"We are meeting with the lasy candidate today," County Attorney Daniel Manning said Feb. 28. "We will have the reccomendations to you soon."

Board vice-chairman Robert Politi of North Elba said the board was also in the process of hiring the county's next real property director.

"We have five candidates at this time and we are continuing with those interviews," Politi said.
