One injured following accident near Duane

A local woman was injured in a two-car motor vehicle accident late Sunday night.

Malone-based state police say 58-year-old Cathy Fuller of Paul Smiths was driving south on state Route 30 near the town of Duane when she was sideswiped by a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Shirley A. Bourque of Tupper Lake.

Troopers say Bourque was driving north at about 9:54 p.m. Sunday when her car entered the oncoming lane, striking Fuller's vehicle.

Rescue personnel transported Fuller to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, where she was treated and released, according to hospital officials.

Bourque was ticketed for speeding, failure to maintain lane, and operating a motor vehicle with an unsafe tire.
