Ti routs Lake Placid; Schroon bests Westport; Moriah downs ELCS

Sentinels to face Seton Catholic today

Ticonderoga will face Seton Catholic in the Section VIIClass C boys basketball tournament championship game today.

The contest is slated to tip at 1:45 p.m. at the SUNY-Plattsburgh fieldhouse.

The Sentinels reached the title game with a 55-30 rout of Lake Placid in semifinal action Feb. 26.

Ti raced to a 15-0 lead and held a 23-3 advantage after one period.

Nate Lenhart led Ticonderoga with 16 points, 12 in the opening period as Ti took command.

Matt Nolan added 14 points for the winners.

To will face Seton Catholic in the title game. Seton downed Northern Adirondack, 41-38, in the other Class C semifinal game. Eddie LaRow had 21 points for Seton.

Schroon advances

Schroon Lake beat Westport, 63-32, in the quarterfinals of the Section VII Class D boys basketball tournament Feb. 26.

The win moved the Wildcats to the semifinal round against Chazy on Tuesday. The championship game will be played today at noon at the SUNY-Plattsburgh fieldhouse.

Schroon sprinted to a 20-7 lead against Westport and coasted to the win.

Jesse Shaughnessy had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the 'Cats, while Anthony Vanderwalker added 11 points and Ian Williams 10.

Liam Davis had nine points for Westport.

Moriah wins

Moriah downed Elizabethtown-Lewis, 62-37, in the quarterfinals of the Section VII Class D boys basketball tournament Feb. 26.

The win moved the Vikings to the semifinal round against Willsboro on Tuesday. The championship game will be played today at noon at the SUNY-Plattsburgh fieldhouse.

Moriah closed the first half with an 18-8 run against ELCS to break open a close game. The Vikings dashed any ELCS comeback hopes with a 17-8 to start the second half.

Isaac Aponte paced Moriah with 21 points. Landon Cross added 11 points, while Nick Gilbo contributed 17 rebounds.

Hunter Mowery had 20 points for ELCS.
