Beginning Thursday, April 7, the Ti FD bingo will feature fewer games, but more specials in an effort to retain faithful players and attract new ones. The change will coincide with National Volunteer Firefighter Week.
"We want to improve our bingo for players, but we have to keep the prices down and affordable for everyone," Cunningham said.
Bingo is a major undertaking for the fire department, Cunningham stressed, requiring 12-15 volunteers to run the games each week. Firefighters generally operate the games, while members of the fire department auxiliary sell refreshments from the kitchen.
"It's a lot of work, but it's all part of operating our department," Cunningham said. "Bingo is important to our operation."
