This week's pup of the week is Pacey. She is a beautiful pit bull mix puppy, about 14 weeks old. Pacey is so sweet and loving. She loves to frolic in the snow and play with the other pups. Pacey is crate trained and is working on house training. She is so smart; I know she will make someone a wonderful lifelong companion. Pacey is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and comes with 30 days of free pet insurance.
Did you know the annual cost of owning a dog can be anywhere from $600-$10,000 a year? Although there are some onetime expenses like spay\Neuter, which can cost up to $200 and startup expenses like food and water dishes, crates, and toys, there are hundreds of dollars in owning a dog that cannot be avoided, year after year. The average American can spend up to $500 a year in dog food alone. Then you have to remember to take your buddy to the vet for his yearly check-up which is usually about $100. It may sound overwhelming but all the expenses that owning a pet comes with, you know that you can always count on unconditional love and affection. So before you make the decision to adopt a dog, please think of the long term expenses that you are signing up for and remember that sloppy kisses and a walking partner are always free of charge.
