The Wizard of Oz' coming to Rutland

RUTLAND - The Theatre at Rutland Intermediate School will present "The Wizard of Oz" March 5 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and March 6 at 2pm The theater is located on Library Avenue in Rutland

Under the direction of Saskia Hagen Groom, a cast of 36 local area actors will take audiences to the amazing Land of Oz. When the lights go up, and Dorothy finds herself being hailed by Munchkins for saving them from the Wicked Witch of the East, it is a pretty bewildering experience for a little girl from Kansas.

The cast features local favorites Katherine Bullock as Dorothy, Martini the dog as Toto, Dune Mayberger as Scaregrow, Brandon Bailey as Tin Woodman, Matthew Eckler as Lion, Zach Hample/Kelsey McCullough as the Wizard of Oz, Avery Rowland as Glinda, Michaela Eckler as the Bad Witch, Emma Williams, Claire Mercier and Maya Redington as Cats, Miles Allen as Boq, Morgan Wallace as Zoq, Skyler Ambrose as Verdo, Olivia Lane as Jade, Isabella Gulick as Amber, Gabriella Gorruso as Topaz, Kyle Mead as Winkle/Tree, Sam Groom as Wonkle/Tree, Will Giering as Ruby, Noah Tanen as Garnett, Ensemble Munchkinland/Poppies Kaylee Rosmalski, Willow Michaod, Emerson Pomeroy, Anne Whitney, Sarah Bloch, Katelynn Regula, Maya Sobel, Sarah Galvin, Leah Allen, Francie Ettori, Siobhan Gallagher, Sophie Tanen, Jessica Watson, Jake Giering
