MORIAH-After nine seasons of convivial tea service, the Tea Cottage of Moriah closed its doors.
Former guests have kept calling, hoping to once again enjoy the delights of the tea cottage. In response, the Tea Cottage will reopen on July 1 on a limited basis.
Kathryn Lacey, owner of the Tea Cottage, a former teacher, has kept busy in tea-related endeavors as a consultant and lecturer.
Tea services will be available Fridays through Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m. Advance reservations are required and groups no larger than eight people will be accepted.
Guests may enjoy a Simple Tea: a pot of tea and the famous Tea Cottage Scones; Cream Tea: a pot of tea, scones and sweets; or Afternoon Tea: a pot of tea, scones, sandwiches and sweets. Vegan and vegetarian diets will be accommodated. Special lunches and dinners may be arranged for groups of four to eight.
The Tea Cottage Bakery will accept orders for guests wishing to enjoy the Cottage delights at home. Tea Cottage delights will be offered at the town of Moriah Farmers' Market in Port Henry on Wednesdays.
