A newly-elected member of the Lake Placid Central School District Board of Education has resigned.
Camelia Sheridan notified school officials that she would not be able to serve because of an unforeseen illness in her family.
That creates an opening for the school board to appoint another member.
The school board announced this week that they will begin interviewing interested people for the seat.
Candidates are asked to forward a letter of interest and resume to District Clerk Karen Angelopoulos.
