The club held its annual Resolution Run on Jan. 1. After the Montcalm Mile it will sponsor the Heritage Day 10K in Ironville Aug. 21 and the Footrace at Fort Ticonderoga, a 5-kilometer cross country race, Sept. 24.
The Heritage Day 10K will be held in conjunction with the Penfield Homestead Museum's annual Heritage Day celebration.
Starting and finishing near the museum, the course covers country roads, about half of them dirt. The first four miles are up and down with a very fast two-mile downhill finish.
Late registration will be 8:30-9:45 a.m. race day on the museum porch. Runners can pre-register by mailing a check made out to the LaChute Road Runners to Dave Burrows at POBox 454, Castleton, Vt. 05735. Entry fee is $10.
Medals will be presented to overall men's and women's winners as well as in age 19 and younger, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and older categories for men and women. There will be no duplicate awards.

The Footrace at Fort Ticonderoga is a scenic, cross-country 5K (3.1 miles) course. It features varied terrain of grass and gravel near the shores of Lake Champlain, on the historic Fort Ticonderoga peninsula, finishing on the parade ground inside the walls of the fort.
The race will begin at 10 a.m. Race day check-in and late registration will be 8:30-9:45 a.m. Entry fee is $15 for students and $17 for adults who pre-register. Entry fee is $20 on race day. T shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 registrants.
The race also includes a three-member team event.
Each runner and two spectators will receive complimentary admission to Fort Ticonderoga on race day. Fifers and drummers will hail the finishers.

The race will benefit the Duane Crammond Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards a $1,000 scholarship each year to a Ticonderoga High School alumnus who has competed in cross country and/or track.
The LaChute Road Runners has financed trips for the Ticonderoga High School cross country and track teams, purchased equipment for the scholastic harriers, provided monetary assistance to teens attending camps and awarded the annual Crammond scholarship.
