One hurt after truck crashes into SL motel

A local teen was injured after the pickup truck she was driving crashed into a motel in Saranac Lake.

Saranac Lake Village Police were called to a one-car motor vehicle accident at about 4:17 p.m. Saturday.

Officers say 16-year-old Rita M. Munn was attempting to turn around in her 2011 Ford pickup truck in the parking lot of the Lakeside Motel when she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the clutch, causing the truck to lurch forward and strike the side of the motel's main building.

Rescue personnel treated Munn and her passenger, Ann Munn, at the scene and both declined transport to the hospital.

But police say Rita Munn later complained of head pain and was taken by a private vehicle to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for treatment.

No tickets were issued as a result of the accident.
