Troopers: TL accident leads to DWI arrest

A local man was taken into custody earlier this week on drunken driving charges following a car accident in Tupper Lake.

State police arrested 69-year-old Guildor J. Lizotte of Tupper Lake at about 10:28 p.m. Tuesday and charged him with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

He was also ticketed for making an improper right turn and failure to maintain lane.

A state police investigator in Ray Brook says the accident occurred at the intersection of state Route 30 and Hosley Avenue. According to reports, Lizotte was trying to make a right turn onto Route 30 when he collided with a vehicle being driven by 43-year-old Daniel J. Roy of Tupper Lake.

Roy was not injured, but Lizotte complained of back pain and was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, where he was treated and released.

Both vehicles incurred minor damage as a result of the accident.

Lizotte is due to appear in court at a later date.
