Cops: SL woman tried selling stolen prescriptions drugs

A Saranac Lake woman was taken into custody late last week after police learned she stole prescription drugs and later tried to sell them.

Saranac Lake Village Police arrested 25-year-old Brittany L. Greathead at 7:30 p.m. June 9.

According to reports, she was taken into custody following a larceny investigation. Police say Greathead allegedly stole the medications and then attempted to sell them to another individual.

She was subsequently charged with one count each of the following: fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class-D felony; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor; and fourth-degree criminal solicitation, a misdemeanor.

Earlier last week, Greathead was arrested by police in Lake Placid and briefly sent to Essex County Jail on charges of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

Following Thursday's arrest, she was processed by Saranac Lake police, arraigned in village court, and remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

Greathead is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
