Village contest looking for community participation

KEESEVILLE-The village of Keeseville wants the community to help design a soon-to-be renovated portion of sidewalk.

The sidewalk portion, which is located at the village tennis courts near the village offices, will be part of a paving stone contest offered through the village.

"There will be eight winners and the stones will be judged for most creative, most original and most colorful," said Keeseville mayor Meegan Rock. "The contest begins on June 30, and all of the stones have to be in place by 1 p.m. on July 7."

The stones will be 2 inches in length and width and 4 inches thick.

Prizes will include $100 for first place, $75 for second, $50 for third and five $25 awards.

"It's a great chance for people in the community to show off their craft talents and bring a little life to the sidewalk," Rock said.
