Spear hired at CHC

SARANAC LAKE -Creative Healing Connections, known for its arts and healing retreats for women living with cancer and other chronic diseases, for women veterans, and for active duty service-members, has hired Martha Pritchard Spear to be its new director. She began her duties June 1.

Since moving to the Adirondacks from New York City in 2003, Spear served as the director of development for North Country School and Camp Treetops, as a major gifts officer of the American Red Cross's Northeast New York Chapter, and as a Trustee of the Wells Memorial Library in Upper Jay. She will take over leadership of Creative Healing Connections from storyteller Fran Yardley, who served as the founding director for over ten years. Yardley will continue with the organization as the program director of several of the women's retreats.
