An employee of a business in the town of Franklin was taken into custody yesterday after allegedly selling alcohol to a minor.
Ray Brook-based state police arrested 41-year-old David R. Daby on Wednesday and charged him with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol.
The arrest coincided with a state police Underage Drinking Initiative in southern Franklin County.
According to a release issued by investigators, an 18-year-old female, acting under the supervision of a plain clothes state trooper, attempted to purchase alcohol at numerous retail establishments.
As a result, police arrested Daby, an employee at the Birch Bark Deli in Vermontville.
Daby was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Franklin Town Court at a later date.
