Penny sale brings in needed funds

LUDLOW-The 2011 Ludlow Rotary Club Annual Penny Sale was the club's biggest success to date, according to sale organizers.

Many hours were spent planning and preparing for the event and participants from around the Ludlow took part.

Without the support from local businesses and community citizens the event would not have been possible, Rotary officials said.

Over 400 prizes were donated to the club this year totaling more than $25,000 in prizes were given away. Funds collected, in turn, are returned to the community through various Rotary Club projects that benefit the local area.

Cash raffle winners were, in descending order, fifth prize Doug Ficken, fourth prize Barbara Tinney, third prize Alice Barnes, second prize Joan Eggleston and first prize Sandra Burbank.
