Girls varsity basketball 1-29-11

Olivia Carlsson led the Hornets with 14 points, while Charisse Abellard added 12 points,Marle Curle scored seven points and pulled down eight rebounds, Emily Manchester scored six points to go with 10 rebounds, Brin Keyser and Kianna Dragoon scored four points apiece and Justine Rotz scored three points to go with eight rebounds.

Beekmantown 38, Moriah 33

The Lady Eagles used a 10-4 opening quarter to give themselves the cushion they needed to beat the Lady Vikings Jan. 19.

Shannon Ryan continued to impress in her first season of varsity play, scoring 24 points, while Rylei Porter scored seven points, Michelle Cressey added three points, with Grace Kelly and Emily Anderson scored two points each.

Peru 89, NAC 19

The Lady Indians scored 20-plus points in each of the first three quarters in beating the Lady Bobcats Jan. 19.

Emily Decker scored 20 points to pace the Indians, while Raelyn Passino added 11 points, Meg Barber scored 10 points, Stephanie Demarais scored nine points, Mary Mazzella scored eight points, Kelly Kezar scored seven points, Dani Dayton scored six points, Katie Bruno scored six points, Sam Martin scored five points, Emily Major scored five points and Mary Gilbert scored two points.

Heather Kingsolver and Tiffany Provost each scored six points for the Bobcats, while Katelynn King added three points, Kristin Almodovar added two points and Taylor Stalling also scored two points.

ELCS 50, Willsboro 39

The Lady Lions used a 15-5 third quarter run to beat the Lady Warriors Jan. 19.

Shonna Brooks and Kearsten Ashline each scored 16 points to help pace the Lions, with Brooks adding 11 rebounds and four blocks and Ashline recording 14 rebounds and seven steals.

Lily Whalen added 10 points for the Lions, with Jennifer McGinn scoring four points, Sierra Wimmett scoring two points, Ashli Canabush scoring one point and Kylee Cassavaugh dishing out four assists.
