The board approved contracting with the Warrensburg Emergency Medical Services for $30,000 to provide services for town residents. It was noted that this sum covers the cost of one on-call Advanced Life Support technician.

Warrensburg EMS is also now providing Advanced Life Support services in the Town of Thurman, which generates about 64 calls a year. Warrensburg has several ambulances and a staff that is on call 24 hours a day.

DVDs sought for troops overseas

Lake George resident Hildy Monroe is now seeking DVDs of movies to send to troops stationed in the Middle East, particularly in combat areas of Afghanistan.

Her son, Jeremy Monroe, 23, is stationed there with a Marine Corps contingent. Monroe said Jeremy will distribute the movies to his fellow soldiers for their off-duty entertainment. Hildy said she's willing to pick up DVDs from donors, and she welcomes anyone to call her at 668-5518.
