Westport girls best rivals, stumble against Orange

Christina Sherman led the Eagles with 18 points, while Willa McKinley scored 10 points, Allison Sherman scored eight points, Brendee Russell added six points, Emily French scored four points and Karlee McGee added two points.

Hannah Bruno scored 10 points to lead the Warriors, with Serene Holland scoring eight points, Amanda Mahoney adding six points, Kyli Swires scoring five points and Renee Marcotte scoring three points.

Schroon Lake 54, Keene 18

The Lady Beavers were unable to get past the Lady Wildcats, who were led by 20 points from Rebecca Armstrong Jan. 13.

Megan Hall scored five points to pace the Beavers, while Anna Kowanko and Hannah McCabe scored four points, Olivia Jaques scored three points and Emma Gothner added two points.

ELCS 46, M-NCS 36

The Lady Lions took advantage of the middle quarters, outscoring the Lady Mountaineers 23-13 to earn a win Jan. 13.

Shonna Brooks paced the Lions offense with 17 points, while Lily Whalen added 15 points, Jessyka McGinn and Kaitlin Coats scored four points, Clare Harwood scored three points, Emily Morris scored two points and Jennifer McGinn scored one point.

IL/LLCS 60, Westport 35

In a game featuring the top two teams in the MVAC, the Orange used a 19-4 second quarter to earn the win against the Lady Eagles Jan. 14.

Christina Sherman paced the Eagles with 13 points, while Allison Sherman added wight points, Willa McKinley scored seven points, Nancy Armitage scored four points, Mallory Suddoth scored two points and the duo of Brendee Russell and Karlee McGee each scored one point.

Potsdam 34, Tupper Lake 19

Potsdam used a 14-5 opening quarter to get past the Lady Lumberjacks Jan. 14.

Sam Sanford led the Lumberjacks with seven points, while Carley Aldridge scored six points and Katie Stuart had two points. Hunter Aldridge grabbed seven rebounds.
