ALTONA - If you're a bride-to-be unsure of what dress to choose, a soon-to-be groom looking for the perfect tux or a couple simply planning your nuptials, there's an event with your name all over it.
The annual North Country Bridal Expo will return to the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall Sunday, Jan. 30, offering a little of everything for those planning their big day.
Hannah Emond and Kathy Spaulding, owners of The Dressing Room, Malone, are coordinating the fashion show portion of the event again this year and each are looking forward to the affair. The fashion show - which will be presented in both of the expo's two sessions - will once again be paired with booths hosted by dozens of wedding-related businesses and services.
"The expo will answer a lot of questions people may have because they can go and talk to each individual vendor," said Emond.
Wedding photographers, disc jockey services, florists, jewelers and every kind of business in between will be represented one way or another, said Emond, which she feels adds to the popularity of the event.
"It's just a nice way to get it done in one stop," she said.
The fashions that will be on display are also part of the main attraction, said Spaulding.
"People can expect to see designers such as Maggie Sottero, Alfred Angelo, Casa Blanca," she said. "And, for men's tuxedos we'll have Jim's Formal Wear, Sarno and Son, and Tuxedo Junction."
"We carry all the top designers," she added.
"People can expect to see just about any wedding vendor they'll want to see and a really good fashion show showing them all the latest designs from New York City and Chicago," said Emond. Even though the hot wedding season in the North Country is fall, it doesn't mean brides- and grooms-to-be should wait until then to plan their wedding, added Emond.
