Four vehicles in Route 7 crash in Ferrisburgh

FERRISBURGH - Vermont State Police responded to a four-vehicle crash Jan. 15 located at 6088 U.S. Route 7 in Ferrisburgh.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the vehicle at fault was traveling southbound on Route 7 and lost control traveling into the northbound lane of travel.

Both vehicles collided in the northbound lane causing vehicle two, driven by Deborah C. Chrisman, 56, of Jericho, which was transporting 16 students, to travel completely off the roadway. At this time, vehicle three collided with vehicle one, driven by John E. Billard, 66, of Vergennes, and then vehicle four collided with vehicle three before all vehicles came to rest.

The occupants of vehicle one were extracted from the vehicle and transported to Fletcher Allen Hospital to receive treatment. Further investigation yielded that the operator of vehicle one was processed for DUI at Fletcher Allen Hospital. Names of the other drivers were not released by police.
