Event celebrates M.L. King, Jr.'s legacy

RUTLAND - The Rutland Interfaith Council of Churches, along with Neighbor to Neighbor AmeriCorps from the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging hosted a community luncheon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 17. The event was titled Soup's On.

Local AmeriCorps members represented several area agencies and the community prepared and served soup, bread, and desert at the free event. There was also be a multimedia exhibit on King's service and information on volunteer opportunities with several local service agencies.
