Northway crash injures people

SCHROON LAKE - Four people were injured in a two-car accident Jan. 8 in Schroon Lake.

Schroon Lake-based State Police reported Anton C. Keith, 24, of North Carolina was northbound on Interstate 87. As he exited the highway at exit 28, Keith failed to yield the right of way and T-boned a vehicle driven on Route 74 by Franklin L. Plummer Jr., 44, of North Carolina.

Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch and were extensively damaged.

Both drivers, along with a passenger in Keith's vehicle, James D. Walker, 25, of Schenectady, and a passenger in Plummer's vehicle, Carole E. Shaver, 50, of Virginia, were transported to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment of injuries, mainly soreness from seat belts.

Keith was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
