A former Lake Placid resident is in police custody today following accusations of rape.
Lake Placid Village Police arrested 21-year-old Daniel D. Stahl of Clearwater, Florida - and formerly of Lake Placid - at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday.
According to reports, he was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Essex County Supreme Court following a complaint and investigation into an alleged sexual assault which occurred in the village of Lake Placid.
Stahl now faces charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, and first-degree criminal sexual act; he's also charged with three counts of facilitating a sex offense with a controlled substance.
Stahl was arraigned in Essex County Supreme Court and remanded to Essex County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
