PLATTSBURGH - A total of $1.1 million can aid in several energy-efficient projects in the area.
The money has been set aside by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority as part of the Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding for projects. Two projects have already benefited from the funds, one being the Plattsburgh International Airport, which has begun construction of a 4,000-square-foot SolarWall. The project will cost $120,000.
A continuation of the SolarWall is next on the list of projects, and it has been awarded $500,000. The SolarWall will heat buildings within the airport, while also using clean energy. Gouverneur-based Dynamic Construction has begun the work for the project.
