Sklaryk search ramps up; still no leads

Law enforcement agencies are ramping up their search for Gary Sklaryk, but police say they're still without any solid leads.

The 55-year-old Saranac Lake man has been missing since Sunday morning and was last seen at his home on Ampersand Avenue.

While the number of village police, state Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers, and state troopers involved in the search has increased over the last two days, Saranac Lake Village Police Chief Bruce Nason said nothing has come from the effort.

"Nothing's new," Nason said. "We continue to follow any and all leads that come our way and search the area."

Police have scoured vacant buildings throughout the community and a state police helicopter has been providing a birds-eye view of the search area.

Sklaryk is listed at six feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a full beard.

Anyone with information regarding Sklaryk's whereabouts should call Saranac Lake Village Police at 518-891-4422.
