Spaghetti dinner to support skateboard park

LAKEGEORGE - A series of fundraisers has been planned to raise money to construct the proposed Lake George Skateboard Park.

A spaghetti dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 5 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Take-out meals are available. Also, a continuing series of video game tournaments have been scheduled for upcoming Sundays at Pizza Jerks, a restaurant just south of the intersection of Iroquois and Amherst streets in Lake George.

A group of teenagers at Lake George Central School have been working for years to develop a skateboard park, and last year, Village Mayor Robert Blais advocated constructing it on the northwest plot of the West Brook Environmental Park now being developed on the former Gaslight Village site. Sop far, the skateboard park development effort has raised a sum less than $20,000 towards the projected $70,000 project cost.
