Library to host art exhibit

PORTHENRY - During the month of March local women artists will display their works in Sherman Free Library. A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, March 12, from 1-2 p.m. The artists will be present to talk about their works and refreshments will be served.

Linda Smyth, Betty Hanby, Laureen Carson, and Aloha Laporte will display paintings done with oils or acrylics. Tonya Condon will display photography. Spring Carson will display her heart art painting on blocks. Bridget Simpson, Irina Bryant, Sandy Ritchey, and Jackie Viestenz will display their knitting, crocheting and quilting. Mary Jane Slattery and Charlene Turner will display their slate paintings.

The art will be displayed for the entire month of March. Some of the items will be for sale.
