Argyle 48, Lake George 46

QUEENSBURY - In a thrilling, hard-fought game that was decided in the last few seconds of overtime, Argyle won the Adirondack League Girls Basketball Championship title.

The loss hands Argyle their first league championship in four years - the prior three years were won by Lake George.

Argyle's Jacquelyn Miller finished with 21 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead Argyle to the title. The game was played in the SUNYAdirondack gymnasium.

Argyle fought off a furious come-from-behind effort by the Warriors - who were trailing by as many as 13 points - to clinch the 48-46 overtime victory.

Warrior Caroline Murphy made two baskets with less than two minutes remaining to push the game into overtime. Murphy finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

Her teammate Brittany Baker finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Kelly Flaherty chipped in four, Amanda Chambers and Gretchen Bechard had two, while Hahnah Saroff finished with one point in the loss.

Salem 60, Warrensburg 22

SALEM - Talia Cappabianca put up 18 points to lead Salem to a victory over the Burghers in the play-in game of the Class C Section II Tournament Saturday, Feb. 19.

Katie McKeighan and Patricia Russo each recorded 10 points apiece in the win.

Isabella Szabo led the Burghers with 10 points and two three-pointers. Alexa Bryant chipped in eight points and both Savannah Mosher and Ashlie Morehouse had two apiece in the loss, which ends the Burgher's 2010-11 season.

Bolton 52, Wells 45

BOLTON LANDING - D.J. Servelli put on an impressive show with 31 points for Bolton, which clinched a fourth-quarter victory over Wells Feb. 16.

Teammate Alana Peterson tallied eight rebounds to go with her nine points in the effort, and Charlotte Caldwell pulled down four and sunk five points. Molly Schoder contributed two points in the win.
