NEWCOMB - Taylor Ordway sunk 27 points with a single three-pointer to lead in Johnsburg's to a Division 3 playoff victory Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Ben Richards and Andrew Veldman each grabbed 10 rebounds with seven points for Richards and nine for Veldman. Sean O-Neill finished with four points in the win.

One of Hank Evatt's three three-pointers came close to tying it up late in the game. He finished with a team-high 15 points. Stephen Pitcher and Matt Rusch tallied 13 points each, with Pitcher adding six rebounds and Rusch pulling down seven. Matt Moore had two points in the loss.

Crown Point 65

Minerva-Newcomb 43

NEWCOMB - Mike Gould scored 17 points and Nate Tabor added 15 to lead Crown Point to a victory over Minerva-Newcomb Monday, Feb 14.

The Mountaineers who were outscored 43-13 in the first half and could not rally for a comeback. They were led by Austin Williams with 16 points. Dakota Thompson netted 11, Morgan Winslow had nine and Taylor Goodspeed finished with four in the loss. Winslow put up two three-pointers and Thompson had one for the Mountaineers.

Indian Lake/Long Lake 46

Johnsburg 38

INDIAN LAKE - The last regular season for both Indian Lake/Long Lake and Johnsburg will go to a playoff for the division after the Orange topped Johnsburg Monday, Feb. 14.

Both teams are 5-1 in the division.

Matt Rusch, Hank Evatt and Stephen Pitcher combined to turn a two-point halftime lead into a 33-25 lead after three quarters.

Evatt finished with a game-high 16 points and one three-pointer, Rusch had 15 points and a ripped down 21 rebounds. Pitcher finished with eight points. Matt Moore had six points, both three-pointers and Collin Farrell finished with one in the win.

Taylor Ordway led Johnsburg with 13 points and five rebounds. John O'Neill added 12 points with one three pointer. Ben Richards had five, Andrew Veldman had four and both Kevin Conner and Chris Scott finished with two points apiece in the loss.
