Hundreds of students from all areas of the Springfield High School Arts Academy were recently enriched by three visiting artists.
Susan Leader, local potter, worked with teacher Bob Paul's U.S. History CATS classes.
Art students of Lisa Murray and Anne Katomskia and Ashley Hensel-Browning shared dance talents and expertise with world language students
Teacher Jim Chlebak's music students, along with Elissa Campbell, bookmaker, worked with teacher Susan Fog's western civilization students. Teacher Joanna Coleman's sophomore English arts class, teacher Marlene Allen's CATS geometry class, and teacher Belinda Hathorn's CATS biology classe and Dave Slivka's freshman CATS geography class worked with Campbell, too.
The CATS program, or Collaborative Arts Technical School, started 11 years. Student enrollment has steadily increased since that time.
Students are also preparing for the appearance of UVM Dancing Uphill, a modern dance concert; the group will perform, March 30, in Kevin Sheehan Auditorium at Springfield HIgh School.
