A local man was taken into custody late last week for allegedly threatening another person with a knife.
Tupper Lake Village Police arrested 53-year-old William F. Demars of Tupper Lake at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Officers say Demars brandished the knife at another individual during a dispute that occurred Feb. 4 on Cedar Street. A subsequent investigation led to charges of first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
Demars was processed at the police department and arraigned in Tupper Lake Town Court before Justice Leonard Young. He was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
He's scheduled to reappear in town court March 28.
