SL man hit with multiple felonies for alleged rape

A local man faces numerous felony charges for the alleged rape of two female victims.

Saranac Lake Village Police arrested 27-year-old Timothy J. Morch of Saranac Lake at 3:40 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say they received a complaint from two female victims - both under the age of 17 - that Morch "physically raped" them on several different occasions.

Additionally, the victims told police that when the alleged rapes occurred, Morch also provided one of the victims with alcoholic beverages and marijuana.

Police also report that Morch physically restrained the victims to prevent them from leaving his apartment.

Morch was charged with the following: two counts of forcible touching of another's sexual or intimate parts, a class-A misdemeanor; two counts of first-degree rape, a class-B felony; third-degree rape, a class-E felony; third-degree criminal sexual act, a class-E felony; use of a child less than 17-years-old in a sexual performance, a class-C felony; first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, a class-A misdemeanor; unlawful imprisonment, a class-A misdemeanor; and second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, a class-D felony.

Morch was processed at the police department and arraigned in village court before Justice Ken McLaughlin.

He was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.

The investigation is considered ongoing.
