Oil tanker spills fuel after crash

LAKEGEORGE - A tanker-truck loaded with 2,000 gallons of fuel oil struck a private snowplow north of Usher Park last Tuesday and overturned, closing Route 9L as 40 gallons of oil spilled onto the road.

The truck belonged to Glens Falls Heating Oil, according to Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Local fire crews and DEC hazardous material teams attended to soaking up the spilled oil. Lake George was not affected. Route 9L was reopened the same day.
