Chester Library's winter book sale approaching

CHESTERTOWN - On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26, the Friends of the Town of Chester Library will present their annual Winter Book Sale, and a wide variety of items are lined up for the event.

The sale is to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library, located at the Chestertown Municipal Building on Main Street.

The array of adult novels, mysteries, and sci-fi continue to multiply at the library, so during this sale only, many novels will be offered at half-price.

Presented at this sale is an extensive collection of quilting, cross-stitch, needlework and craft books, along with a variety of attractive cook books. Biographies range from political, literary, entertainment to historical figures. In non-fiction, there are collections on topics extending from self-help, history, medical, travel, and crime. World War II enthusiasts will find a complete set of Time Life's Wings of War. Also to be offered are DVDs, audiobooks, VHS tapes, music CDs, magazines, puzzles, and records.

There are appealing children's books and outstanding teaching materials, a library representative said. College students will find classics and support materials in assorted fields.

Sturdy book bags with the Chester Library logo, created by Barbara Tumarkin Dunham, will be on sale.

All are welcome to join the Friends of the Library in their effort to support the facility while discovering interesting materials for one's winter reading, listening, and viewing pleasure. Call the library at 494-5384 for details.
