Chambers throw support behind ACR project

PAUL SMITHS - If Franklin County does implement a bed tax, the proposed Adirondack Club and Resort would be a major source of income.

Several economic leaders have spoke highly of the project, which could soon be headed to an adjudicatory hearing.

"Get a hold of the governor's office and let him know how important this project is," said Hugh Hill, president of the Malone Chamber of Commerce. "The club would be a major project that would change life as we know it. I think that this is terrific and it needs all of our support. This isn't just huge for Tupper Lake, but for the whole region."

"Tourism is our biggest asset and we want to promote it in any way that we can," said Marc "Tim" Lashomb, District 4 legislator in Franklin County.
