Two people were hurt in a one-car motor vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend.
Tupper Lake-based state police say 29-year-old Matthew C. Eick of Tupper Lake was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche west along state Route 3 in the town of Harrietstown when he tried to pass a snowplow.
Eick subsequently lost control of his vehicle, striking guardrails on both the roads north and south sides. The accident happened at about 5:10 p.m. Saturday.
Troopers say two passengers - 25-year-old Katie A. Lincoln of Tupper Lake and 26-year-old Heather Ackerman of Buffalo - were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Eick was not injured, nor was a third passenger - 27-year-old Joseph R. Mallison of Batavia. Eick was ticketed for speed not reasonable or prudent for driving conditions and unsafely moving from a lane.
