Two people were transported to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident in Bloomingdale Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, 69-year-old Michael W. Kelly of Vermontville was operating his motor vehicle east along state Route 3 in the town of Franklin when he lost control and entered the westbound lane, striking a 2007 Hyundai minivan operated by 35-year-old Janis K. Curtis of Vermontville.
The accident occurred near the intersection of state Route 3 and Fletcher Farm Road.
Both drivers were transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake via Saranac Lake Rescue Squad. Ray Brook-based state police say Kelly suffered a head injury, while Curtis complained of abdominal pain.
Michael Kelly received a ticket for failure to keep right and state police records indicate he was also charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
